The Reserve Chardonnay has a pale gold colour. The nose exhibits strong fruit characters of melon and apples, along with the added complexity of lees contact and wood maturation. The palate is well structured around the generous fruit and supported by subtle oak with a fresh clean acidic finish.
The grapes from our members' vineyards were harvested between February and March at optimal ripeness and acid levels. The grapes were then fermented in a combination of small French oak and stainless steel. The wine received extended lees contact to further add complexity. Following blending in October the wine was stabilised, filtered and bottled.
This versatile style is an excellent accompaniment to many foods including white meats, seafood and even game. It can also be enjoyed with lighter style pastas with creamy sauces.
